Why I Think Augusta Is Set Up for Exponential Growth

The team.

I've worked with a lot of teams before. This is the best early-stage team I've been a part of. I've worked with Yvan and Jen before and they're both outstanding.

Yvan has a clear vision about how to build the best hiring platform for agencies and their caregivers and he’s created a culture of collaboration at Augusta where we feel empowered to follow bold new directions fearlessly.

Jen communicates clearly, ambitiously pursues new leads, and meets them where they are. She's been building relationships with senior care businesses since 2011 and has developed partnerships with some of the most reputable organizations in the industry.

Sam has been a bedrock. He’s proven himself to be exceptionally knowledgeable about the agency owner market and provided a lot of real-world value that’s helped us get early customers in the door.

The market.

"This market is ripe for the picking." That's word-for-word what one of our most trusted agency owners told us a couple weeks ago. It's true. The need for caregivers is rapidly outpacing the speed at which agencies can hire and train them.

We saw this same problem at CareAcademy (led by the inimitable Helen Adeosun). Most agencies we talk to say they could double in size if only they could find enough qualified caregivers.

I wake up excited to make a difference in this market by listening and reacting to the real-world problems that our customers and caregivers face every day.

The product.

It's still early on the product side, but we are putting a product out there and we’re seeing early traction. We’re testing ideas with real customers and actually selling them on it. So, fear of launching due to lack of product-market fit (the worst way to die imo) is a problem we’re avoiding.

We're learning so much about what agencies need and what direction they want to grow in. Yvan is making the best type of decision here: forcing us to think about how much work we can do on the backend so agency owners can just focus on the hiring process. We’ve already heard how much of a difference this makes in the time and attention owners are able to give to new hires.

It’s the same strategy we used at CareAcademy and I think — if we have enough time — we’ll be able to pull off the same level of success with Augusta.
